How do you react
to the tune of this song?
Do you recognize it?

"Auld Lang Syne" is a traditional song
that British people sing at midnight
on December 31;
but most people don't know that
it is a Scottish poem written in 1788
by Robert Burns
and later set to the music of a folk song.

The song's (Scots) title may be translated from old Scottish dialect into English
literally as "old long since",
or more idiomatically,
"long long ago" or "days gone by".

ACTION 2
Listen and check.

This is the karaoke version of

"Chant des Adieux",

the French equivalent of 'Auld Lang Syne'

and is sung to the same tune,

ou 'Le Joyeux au revoir scout',

ou encore "Ce n'est qu'un au revoir".
